Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Nothing too exciting. Chips were hard & thick. Salsa boring. Food was ok. Service was slow for drink refills. We love Mexican food but this was not what we expected. Anyone giving this place more than 2 stars probably had too many margaritas. :)

Going out to dinner these days is a pretty big deal. Not being disappointed when we do decide to brave a restaurant with our one and almost-three-year-old can be a huge highlight of our month. El Patron was delicious! I highly recommend their carnitas. My husband opted for the nachos, but didn't love them, I thought they were good! He's not a huge fan of chorizo and their beef option tastes quite, well, chorizo-y. They have a great kids menu and very well priced - nice to see burritos, tacos and enchiladas on there! Our daughter opted for a chicken burrito and our son gobbled up her side of rice and beans. The four of us had a very filling and delicious meal for under $30 including tip. Service left a lot to be desired as far as attentiveness goes, however, they've got the kids side of things down. I greatly greatly appreciated their entree arrived a perfect ready to eat temperature and not piping hot like ours were. That's a brilliant touch that most restaurants can't be bothered to do.

Pretty good food! Reasonably priced Mexican and not overly greasy. Service is always good when we go and the drinks are huge. Love the beer-cheese sauce you get on a chimichanga there.

The food is good the prices are reasonable last time I went there I got the fajitas and thay charged me for extra tortillas $0.99 for 3 I was kinda upset about that thay never used to charge you for those but outher than that I use to love this restaurant but will never go back

Start with good chips and 2 good sauces. One is the creamy ranch style one. Excellent. We eat here often and explore the menu each time. I like fish tacos sometimes. Tonight I thought that I would try El Patron's version. Good choice. Fish wasn't fried and was tender and moist. Unusual sauce. Red thin and hot. Good match. Busy but not too noisy. Very fast service.

Portions were ridiculously huge. I ordered a shrimp cocktail and a California burrito. The shrimp cocktail tasted like they dumped a bunch of sugar in it. The burrito was really good but was big enough to feed a small army of pygmies. I should have taken a picture. I've never seen a burrito so big in my life! I have two complaints. First, the parking lot is very small. If you're driving a big vehicle, you have to squish together and hope you don't have a dent or scratch on your door when you're done eating. The second problem is my server spoke very little English. We had to point at what we wanted on the menu. When we asked for a bowl of lemons, she had to send someone else over to figure out what we were talking about because she had no clue. I wonder why they had her working with customers in the front instead of in the back where she didn't have to deal with the public??

We came for lunch last week. The prices were reasonable, but the service was poor, and the food was not much better. The vegetarian fajitas were underwhelming. The chips and salsa and horchata were fine. I'd much rather go to Cozumel or a local Mexican grocery store.

This restaurant serves some of the worst Mexican food you will ever have. Not authentic, watered down beans. Salsa is not fresh. Canned. Folks in Fort have not been around good Mexican food if they think this is authentic. I will never go back.

WHAT?! this place doesn't have a review?! My parents took me here on one of my monthly hometown visits and boy was I impressed! After Deeg's in Jefferson closed down, I was really disappointed that we weren't going to get another Mexican restaurant in the area (I have never tried the one on Main Street in Fort). The chips were fresh and the dips they brought were crazy delicious - one of the dips tasted like "cool ranch" Doritos! The pulled pork burrito I ordered was also crazy delicious and I had enough to take home for another meal. My parents and husband also loved what they ordered and we had a great time. The restaurant was very busy by the time we got there Saturday night, but the staff tried their absolute best to hustle. The custom made chairs are absolutely beautiful.

5 times in a row getting my order wrong set a new personal record. I have not been back since the last wrong order. Food quality, if you get what you ordered, is not bad - typical Americanized Mexican - not particularly fresh or creative. Service is quick.

My personal holy grail of Mexican food in Wisconsin of all places! Fresh fresh fresh--no canned sauces here. The combination of salsa(love them leaving a small pitcher on the table) and the ranch style dip was oddly delicious for a creamy salsa. Went there on the way to the Dells and when coming back! Watch out for the top edges of some of the beautiful wood chairs-easy to catch yourself on.

Great service; good food! Best Mexican restaurant in Fort!

This is for the Sun Prairie location. We ordered Enchiladas Verdes and Huevos Con Chorizo for a late Sunday lunch, with a monster margarita (on the rocks, great). The chicken in the Enchiladas was nice white meat, the verdes sauce was a yummy spicy sweet sauce, and just tasted wonderful. The beans were also really good. The rice and chips/salsa were good, nothing special but good (seemed like bottle salsa). The Huevos Con Chorizo had great flavor and was a good sized portion; the chorizo seemed to be ground up and mixed in with the eggs. The interior was well decorated and comfortable. The service was good. and the staff was friendly (we were the only ones there at 230 on a Sunday). Small bar, good specials (mostly lunch) and kids eat free on Sunday/Monday with an adult. We definitely recommend this restaurant and will be back.

Wish they had a half star option, I'd give it 4.5 stars. I just had the Burrito San Jose, which had chorizo in it. It was delicious! My only grump would be the sauce for the chips, it needs a little kick to it. For those of you who like your alcoholic beverages, you'll be pleased to know they now have a liquor license, you no longer need to drink your margaritas with wine instead of tequila.

quite delicious albeit a bit greasy. overall i will return if im in the area again

This was the worst Mexican restaurant I have ever been too. The margaritas were awful. Barely any ice and it tasted like a margarita mix from the grocery store. Also I ordered a chicken taco salad. It came with beef and barely and chicken. There was a hair in my salad. Our server was chewing gum and texting on his phone the entire time. Safe to say I will be returning.

Loved the wait staff. Loved the food. Fantastic atmosphere. I would highly recommend El Patron to anyone visiting Fort Atkinson. Arriba!

After previous visits which were actually quite enjoyable. I was highly disappointed this afternoon. I ordered steak fajitas and was far from impressed. It was obvious that the meat, peppers, and onions had been previously cooked and reheated. The wait staff was pleasant but disengaged. The portion of food was adequate but not as fulfilling as previous experiences.

Eh... Nothing special. Food wasn't terrible but could definitely use more flavor. Chips were thick and tasted stale... Also we waited A long time for refills and the bill.
